Former I'm A Celebrity...
Get Me Out Of Here! star Frankie Bridge has dished the dirt on what it's really like in camp - and has shared what happens when a contestant has a period. Coleen Rooney, legendary boxer Barry McGuigan, Loose Women panellist Jane Moore and former Strictly dancer Oti Mabuse are among the current line-up as the 2024 series kicks off. But while fans enjoy watching them on screen they are equally intrigued by what remains unseen - now past participants have been divulging the behind-the-scenes secrets.
Frankie Bridge, who took part in 2019, has been particularly candid with followers about the production's inner workings. Frankie ventured onto Instagram to reveal tantalising titbits, including coping mechanisms for when female campmates undergo their menstrual cycle in the depths of the jungle. She was asked during a fan during a Q&A: "Possibly a little TMI but was there special allowance for anybody having their period?" The third-place finalist and Loose Women favourite responded: "Lots of period questions.
I was dreading having one in the camp! Think most of us were!" Frankie declared that no particular concessions were given, saying: "But eco-friendly sanitary products are supplied and there's a medic on site at all times. So if anyone was in pain, relief could be offered obviously." In 2014, Kendra Wilkinson's performance in her third Bushtucker Trial took a dive and she said at the time that she was having her period, reports OK! .
The ex-model was chosen to tackle the Catecombs of Doom challenge but managed to find only two stars within the allotted 10 minutes. She attributed her underwhelming performance to being on her period, a fact she had mentioned multiple times to her fellow campmates and hosts Ant and Dec. Kendra spent over a quarter of her time hesitating before mustering the courage to insert her hand into the first hole in search of a star, admitting her fear of a small crocodile: "I'm so scared, I don't like this stuff.
" Moving on to the next room in the Catacomb, Kendra successfully retrieved a star by inserting her hand into skulls, undeterred by the presence of fish guts in one of them. However, her progress was short-lived as, despite obtaining another star after navigating a snake-infested tunnel, she refused to proceed further. Eventually, she conceded, shouting: "I'm a celebrity.
