I'm A Celebrity kicked off tonight with an action-packed first episode that saw the ten new campers take on an almighty set of challenges to determine the first two leaders of camp. They were split into two groups, with Oti Mabuse, Tulisa Contostavlos, Jane Moore, Danny Jones and Dean McCullough forming the first set of campmates. While on the other side were Alan Halsall , Barry McGuigan, GK Barry, Coleen Rooney and Melvin Odoom.

The first group were immediately tasked with downing a suspicious looking cocktail made of all sorts of disgusting stuff before rushing off into helicopters that were ready for them. After coming off of a skydive, the first batch were asked to team up with one of the other group, with Danny choosing Barry. As the pair arrived at a trial clearing, they were greeted by Ant and Dec who explained that they would be taking part in a trial called 'The Mausoleum of Misery'.

They were both locked into individual chambers with five stars each up for grabs which were padlocked around them. However, I'm A Celebrity fans will all know that it wasn't going to be that easy, as the pair were sent 15 snakes each inside the chambers with them. Half way through the challenge, a worried Danny screamed: "I've got a snake up my shorts," which sent Ant and Dec into fits of laughter.

Adding comic relief , Dec then joked: "That is what's known here as a trouser snake," as Danny continued to squirm. After the trial ended, it was revealed that Danny had collected all five stars, with Barry getting none. However, before he could celebrate his personal achievement, he shouted out: "Can you get it out of my shorts!" An animal handler walked onto the scene as Danny unzipped his shorts to reveal a huge snake inside his pants.

Thankfully, the expert was able to safely take away the snake from Danny as the pair then made their way into camp. Love Island star Maura Higgins and Rev Richard Coles have been heavily rumoured for the show and are expected to be late entrants, taking the total number of campmates to 12. I'm A Celebrity continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX followed by I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked on ITV2 after the main show.
