It has been an emotional week on Emmerdale There was a lot of celebrating among the Emmerdale cast last night as many members of the Dingle clan celebrated a huge occasion for co-star Karen Blick. Actress Karen Blick who has played Lydia Dingle in the ITV soap since 2016 will turn 50 on October 25. Several colleagues took to social media to share an image of the early birthday celebrations.

Lisa Riley who plays Mandy Dingle in the fictional village shared a photo to her Instagram account showing Karen Blick surrounded by her on screen colleagues at a meal. Silver inflatable '50' balloons can be seen in the group photo. The Mandy Dingle star captioned the photo: ''What a beautiful night celebrating the gorgeous @karenblick1.

Bring on the peas.'' Among the famous faces attending the celebrations were James Hooton who currently plays Sam Dingle, the on-screen husband of the Lydia Dingle star and Emma Atkins who is renowned for playing Dingle family member Charity. Others in attendance were Mark Charnock who portrays Marlon Dingle, Katie Hill who plays Sarah Sugden, Jack Downham who plays Noah Dingle and Eden Taylor-Draper renowned for playing Belle Dingle in the Yorkshire village.

Fans took to the comments to wish Karen a happy birthday ahead of the special occasion. One shocked fan said: ''Good lord she’s what? 50?! She doesn’t look it but younger. Happy early 50th Karen.

Best family is the Dingles in Emmerdale'' and ''The Dingles are out in force! Happy Birthday Karen.'' Fans of Emmerdale have been in floods of tears this week as news of soap legend Zak Dingle's death spread across the village. Zak had been staying in Scotland with granddaughter Debbie Dingle and Cain Dingle found out from his daughter Debbie that Zak had died.

As Cain broke the news to friends and family there were multiple scenes of different family members finding out the devastating news. Most of the scenes were silent with slow music playing in the background. Steve Halliwell was renowned for his role as Zak in the fictional Yorkshire village and was a key member of the cast since his first appearance in 1994.

In December last year, Steve's family issued a statement confirming the soap star had died aged 77 ..
