Cottage bakery to move into former Lucky Moon location Like many stay-at-home mothers, Manon Lalonde found herself with more time on her hands as her kids began to graduate.

As they flew the nest, she decided to turn a longtime hobby into a cottage business and founded the Six Red Chairs Bakery four years ago. "I primarily sell just at the Urbana farmer's market," Lalonde said. ".

.. And we went from one tent to a double tent and I have three employees that work part-time with me.

And now, excitingly, there'll be a bakery." Six Red Chairs has announced plans to open a brick-and-mortar location at 401 E. Oak St.

in Mahomet. The space was formerly home to Lucky Moon Pies and More, which previously announced plans to close by Christmas. "I had been looking for a commercial kitchen for the last two years," said Lalonde, who had previously worked out of her home.

"And there's not a lot of commercial kitchen opportunities in our area, so I had been speaking with (Lucky Moon owners) Emily and Fred Kroner, and the timing just worked out. ..

. I'd always eyed that little shop on Oak Street. It's so charming, so it just all fell into place.

" She told The News-Gazette that she hopes to open at the new location in the spring. Lalonde attributed the business' growth to being largely due to their "very loyal and wonderful following of customers at the market," as well as support from residents of Mahomet. "I'm so excited about it," she said in regards to the Oak Street location.

"It's a dream come true." Therapy, coaching service moving to Champaign Blueprint, currently located at 2704 Boulder Drive, Suite B in Urbana, is also making a move. Owner Gina Johnson said the business, which provides services such as mental health therapy and coaching, has outgrown its current space and plans to open at 510 Devonshire Drive in Champaign on March 1, following some renovations.

"I really want people to feel like, when they first walk in the space, how they're going to feel and be living their lives after they've been working with us for a while," Johnson said. She added that the plan is for Blueprint to move out of Boulder Drive during the last two weeks of February, so there will be a "transitional period" where they are between buildings. She also expressed gratitude to their current landlord, Todd Atkins, for buying the building at Devonshire Drive and being "very flexible.

" Blueprint's old location is available to lease starting on Apr. 1, 2025, according to a listing by Guth and Associates. More information is available at crexi.
