It's Southampton's newest pub - opened just in time for plenty of festive fun! Smokin' Barrels on Oxford Street is already making a name for itself as the go-to place for beers and cocktails, kebabs and burgers - and even battered chocolate bars! Choose from Mars, Snickers, Ferrero Rocher, Kit Kat, Bounty or Oreo treats lightly battered and served with chocolate sauce and sprinkles. There's plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, like the aubergine kebab, falafel wrap, halloumi wrap kebab and vegan burger.

On the drinks front, the small but mighty venue serves draught Madri, Coors, Level Head and Staropramen, as well as Thatchers Gold Cider, Prior Life, Guinness and Abbot. (Image: Smokin' Barrels) There's also a good selection of wines, spirits and cocktails, including the popular Smokin' Barrels Punch, with Captain Morgan spiced rum, peach schnapps, peach, pineapple, orange and lemonade and served in a single or a whopping craft size for £25.

Now open seven days a week from midday until late, Smokin' Barrels is proving popular with the pre and post-match Saints crowd going to nearby St Mary's Stadium and also shows plenty of live domestic, European and international football on its big screens with great live music in the background. The team are currently busy hosting plenty of festive get togethers for family, friends and colleagues.

(Image: Smokin' Barrels) The building, which has a few tables for al fresco drinks and dining at the front on Oxford Street, was the premises of Max's from late 2014 to early 2023 when the Italian brasserie moved to Commercial Road opposite Mayflower Theatre. It was previously a tapas bar.
