Hundreds of lambs have already been born at a family farm in Stanford Dingley. It’s been all hands to the pump at the Breakspear family’s Mazelands Farm, as is usual for them as spring arrives. Keep scrolling down to enjoy all of the lovely photos sent into us from the farm by Becky Breakspear.
So far they’ve had more than 200 lambs born and, with 300 ewes brought in to lamb, there’s still more new arrivals expected over the coming days. Becky Breakspear is joined each year by mum Manda, dad Robert and brother George to do all the day and night checks and this year has been keeping them incredibly busy. They also have some extra little helpers this year, with Becky’s niece and nephew, Rebekka and George, lending a hand.
The family has successful lambing seasons every year and this time around it’s no different. Over the years the farm has had multiple different breeds of ewes and lambs including blue texals, charollis and border Leicester. The family said they are all looking forward to being able to see all the lambs in the fields once they have all arrived.
And the lambs are not the only new arrivals, with a baby alpaca proving a firm favourite for little Rebekka..
