The Nintendo today! app has updated with a new Switch 2 video that shows the mysterious C button up close, as well as new music and a sound effect for when it’s pressed. The news app updated for those who have now crossed over into April 2, the day Nintendo’s Switch 2 Direct will be released, and so there is a corresponding update in the app showing the fun begins “Today!” And some are now speculating that this jingle sounds like the kind of noise you’d hear if you were activating a microphone for voice chat. There’s a lot of Switch 2 speculation at the moment, as you’d expect given the interest in the next-gen console and how close we are to its full reveal.

Last week’s Nintendo Direct announcement of a new Virtual Game Cards feature for sharing games between systems also raised some questions, most notably one about the Nintendo Switch 2, thanks to a fine print footnote on an official Nintendo webpage. The Switch 2 Direct airs tomorrow at 6am PT / 9am ET , and we now know it’ll last around 60 minutes .
