Villarreal boss Marcelino has been talking about Barcelona ahead of Sunday’s La Liga clash between the two sides at La Ceramica. Barca head into the match top of the league and face a Villarreal side who have also enjoyed a start season and are looking forward to the game. “It’s a big game for us.

We are playing against a great team, the best in the league at the moment. That’s what the results and the numbers say. We’re going to play a very nice game with great expectation,” he told reporters.

“These are the kind of matches that we professionals like to play. Barça have great potential; we are aware that we have the capacity to improve, but having taken 11 out of a possible 15 points, playing on difficult pitches, is a sign that we are doing well.” Marcelino also spoke about Barcelona’s defeat to Monaco and feels the result was not a true reflection of the two teams due to the early red card.

“The objective is to win. Barça have just lost a game which shows that sometimes football puts you in unexpected situations. Nobody wants to be down a player in the first few minutes of a game,” he explained.

“Yesterday’s game is not an indicator of how the team works. FC Barcelona play with speed, with pace, more vertical than we are used to, and they apply another series of characteristics to the game that make them more dangerous. They are a really attractive team.

” Villarreal will have to cope with an in-form Lamine Yamal when Barca come to town, and Marcelino is in no doubt about the quality he possesses. “We are all constantly amazed at what a boy can do on a football pitch: his daring, his daring, his self-confidence,” he added. “He is a player who can mark an era, but it depends on a lot of factors.

The fact that there are players of this level in our league makes the league great.” Yamal was on target again against Monaco to take his tally to four for the season in all competitions for Barcelona..
