Israel is set to receive its first major cold wave starting on Sunday, with snow also expected in higher altitudes in the country. Early on Sunday, light localized rain fell along Israel's coastal plain. During the day, temperatures will drop significantly, with Monday expected to be particularly cold with a chance of the season's first snow on Mount Hermon according to the Israel Meteorological Service.
Intermittent rain will fall on Sunday in northern and central Israel, spreading to the Negev by midday. warnings of flash flood risks were also reported possible in the Judean Desert and Dead Sea valleys. Strong winds will prevail and localized haze may occur in southern Israel.
