Two Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli forces between the towns of Qabatiyeh and Misilyeh, southeast of Jenin, the Palestinian Civil Affairs Commission confirmed on Wednesday. The victims were identified as 23-year-old Mohd Omar Zakarneh and 19-year-old Mirth Yasser Khzemiyeh. The commission added that Israeli soldiers are withholding their bodies.
The deaths bring the number of Palestinians killed in the West Bank since October 7 to 957. Earlier on Wednesday, Israeli forces raided the town of Azzun in the Qalqilya governorate and arrested six men, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. Soldiers also stormed the city of Qalqilya and searched multiple homes, though no arrests were reported.
Israeli troops also detained journalist Ibrahim Abu Safiyeh after raiding his home in the village of Beit Sira, near Ramallah, Wafa reported. According to Al Jazeera Arabic, Israeli forces carried out further overnight raids in several locations across the West Bank. These included Shu’fat refugee camp in Jerusalem, al-Mughayyir village near Ramallah, Balata refugee camp in Nablus, Haris village in Salfit, Qabatiya in Jenin, Husan village in Bethlehem, Surif town near Hebron (Al-Khalil), and the city of Qalqilya.
