Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler suffered what appeared to be a quad/leg injury on Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Butler took a knee to the quad area from Kawhi Leonard in the Warriors' overtime loss on Sunday, and he was noticeably hobbled in the closing minutes because of the blow. However, the six-time All-Star appears to be good to go for Tuesday's play-in tournament matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Warriors have not listed Butler on the injury report for this game. That goes in line with the messaging from the star forward after Sunday's loss, as he said that he would be good to go for Tuesday's matchup. Oddsmakers at DraftKings have set the Warriors as sizable favorites at home in this matchup against Memphis.
During the regular season, Golden State went 3-1 against the Grizzlies, and Memphis has struggled against over .500 teams, going just 14-25 straight up all season long. Butler has played well since joining the Warriors, but he hasn't been a dominant offensive force since he's only taking 11.
1 shots per game. Still, there is the legend of "Playoff Jimmy" that could make a return this postseason. With Butler expected to play, the Warriors are one of my favorite bets to win in the play-in tournament this week.
