Ludhiana: Senior SAD leader and advocate Parupkar Singh Ghumman has raised the issue of irregularities in getting the development work done by the municipal corporation (MC) officers with the MC commissioner . Ghumman said it had come to his notice that the MC officials were preparing to issue tenders for the reconstruction of roads in Shamsher Avenue to please their political masters. The surprising thing is that these roads were built in the year 2021 during the tenure of the previous government on the recommendation of then area councillor Pankaj Sharma Kaka.

The roads of some area are in a bad condition and still these areas are being deliberately ignored. Ghumman said the roads were built in Panchsheel Vihar area in the year 2017 and at present this area needs development. There are two streets in Panchsheel Vihar, which had not been built at all.

He has expressed apprehension that perhaps the bills have been passed without constructing these streets and it was a matter of investigation. Ghumman has claimed that he has brought the entire matter to the notice of MC chief Aaditya Dachalwal, who had assured him that a decision on whether to place a tender in Shamsher Avenue or not would be taken only after getting full information from the officials. Ghumman has also stated that if any irregularities were committed under political pressure, then the residents of Panchsheel Vihar would not only boycott the elections, but also file a petition in the court against the erring officials.
