Irish expat businessman denied re-entry to Moscow ‘over visa issues’ – but businesses are eyeing return to Russia

Irish entrepreneur Seány O’Kane was denied entry at the border in Russia at the end of last year, the Sunday Independent understands, as tensions ran high in the country. O’Kane, the owner of a popular Telegram platform for expats in Russia, was turned around on December 18 at a Moscow airport due to “visa issues". The incident came just a day after the killing of General Igor Krillov, which reportedly heightened tensions among Russian border officials, leading to several foreign nationals being barred from entering the country.
