iQOO has unveiled its latest Z-series smartphones in India, introducing the iQOO Z9s Pro and iQOO Z9s. The Z9s Pro, priced at ₹ 24,999 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB model, aims to compete in the under ₹ 30,000 segment against rivals like the Realme 13 Pro+, OnePlus Nord 4, and Nothing Phone 2a Plus. How does it stack up? Design The iQOO Z9s Pro boasts a premium design, enhanced camera capabilities, and a robust feature set.

Measuring 163.72 x 75 x 7.49mm and weighing 190g, it is available in two striking finishes: Flamboyant Orange with a leather texture and Luxe Marble with a glass finish.

The device's slim profile and curved display provide a modern look, although the button placement could have been more ergonomic. Display The smartphone features a 6.77-inch Full HD+ curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and vibrant visuals.

With a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, outdoor visibility is excellent. Thanks to the vibrant colours, watching content on the device is a pleasure. Software Running on Android 14 with FunTouch OS 14, the Z9s Pro offers two years of OS updates and three years of security patches, though the experience is somewhat marred by bloatware.

It's not a deal-breaker, but it is certainly a mild annoyance. Performance Under the hood, the device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, making it one of the most affordable options with this chipset. Performance benchmarks indicate it can handle everyday tasks and gaming without issues, although the phone did get a little toasty — not uncomfortably so — during intense sessions.

Cameras Camera quality is another highlight, featuring a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The photos are crisp in various lighting conditions, with the Z9s Pro delivering strong performance in both daylight and low-light scenarios. Battery life The Z9s Pro is equipped with a 5,500mAh battery, supporting 80W fast charging.

In my experience, the device easily lasted up to two days with moderate use and a little less than that when it is really put through its paces. The phone charged from 0% to 100% in just 52 minutes, so it's useful to juice up in a pinch. In Conclusion The iQOO Z9s Pro offers a compelling mix of style, performance, and features, making it a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market.

However, bloatware and limited software support, especially compared to competitors, could be a drawback. For those seeking a stylish, feature-rich smartphone, the iQOO Z9s Pro is worth considering. Also read: realme 13+ 5G review: An affordable blend of performance, battery prowess and cameras.
