Tilak Varma made history by becoming the first batter to score three consecutive centuries in T20 cricket, while Shreyas Iyer reaffirmed his talent with a composed century ahead of the IPL mega auction, as both Indian players came under the spotlight in the opening round of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Saturday. In a Group A clash, Tilak, who had already registered centuries against South Africa in Centurion and Johannesburg, added another to his tally with a spectacular knock against Meghalaya in Rajkot. The left-handed batsman scored an explosive 151 off just 67 balls, which included 14 fours and 10 sixes, leading Hyderabad to a massive total of 248/4 in their allotted 20 overs.
