In the third over’s first ball, the bowler claimed his first wicket, dismissing Ishan Kishan (2) caught by Tristan Stubbs. Two balls later, he bowled Nitish Kumar Reddy for a golden duck, caught by Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel. Mitchell Starc dismissed Travis Head in his third over.

Head scored 22 runs off 12 balls before being caught by wicketkeeper KL Rahul. Mitchell Starc, acquired by Delhi Capitals for 11.75 crore rupees, achieved his first ever five-wicket haul in both IPL and T20 cricket.

He dismissed Harshal Patel and Wiaan Mulder in the 19th over of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings, with catches taken by Axar Patel and Faf du Plessis respectively. He is only the second Delhi Capitals bowler to achieve a five-wicket haul in IPL history, following Amit Mishra’s 5 for 17 against Deccan Chargers in 2008. Mitchell Starc achieved his first five-wicket haul in T20 cricket on Sunday.
