Apple’s iPhone SE 4, widely expected to launch in early 2025, is making headlines yet again, this time with fresh leaks giving us a close look at its pricing. According to a report from Korean publication Naver , the iPhone SE 4 could launch globally at $500 (approximately ₹42,700) or even lower. This price leak reportedly comes from an unspecified Japanese carrier.
If true, the iPhone SE 4’s pricing would undercut its predecessor, the iPhone SE 3, which launched in India at ₹47,600 or $429 in the US. The speculated price drop is believed to be linked to Apple’s decision to equip the smartphone with its in-house 5G modem, codenamed ‘Centauri’. Apple could save on licensing fees by using its proprietary modem instead of sourcing it from Qualcomm.
Here is everything we can expect from the iPhone SE 4 Apple’s new modem may support sub-6GHz 5G bands (offering speeds up to 4Gb/s) but might skip the faster mmWave technology. The modem is also expected to handle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS functionality, with better power efficiency. The iPhone SE 4 might sport a 6.
1-inch OLED panel with the Dynamic Island for the front camera and Face ID, replacing the smaller 4.7-inch LCD screen seen on the iPhone SE 3. It is likely to sport the iPhone 14 body and design.
Following the European Union’s mandate, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a USB-C charging port, bidding farewell to the older Lightning connector. The device is also expected to house a 48MP rear camera and a 24MP front camera, a significant upgrade from its predecessor's 12MP and 7MP cameras. It is expected to run on the new A18 processor used in the base iPhone 16 models with 8GB of RAM, allowing it to support Apple Intelligence.
This would be the first update to the iPhone SE model since 2022, when Apple added 5G capability to the device. Also Read: Apple's 2026 foldable iPhone could revive a slumping market.
