These devices retain the aluminum frame with a Ceramic Shield front and a color-infused glass back. They also have a redesigned camera module, now sporting a horizontal layout. It also adds a dedicated Camera Control switch, a capacitive button that offers access to several camera-related functions.



Later this year, this feature will have other capabilities, such as launching third-party apps like Google Search and ChatGPT. At the front, both iPhones have a Super Retina XDR OLED display with HDR10, Dolby Vision, and a peak brightness of up to 2000 nits. It has a pill-shaped cutout for the front camera and sensors, and the Dynamic Island feature for notifications, alerts, and live activities.

The Apple A18 chip powers the iPhone 16 lineup. It is 30% faster than the A16 Bionic from the previous iPhone 15 models, while its GPU is up to 40% faster and 35% more efficient. The new iPhones will also support Apple Intelligence, which makes use of Apple silicon and Apple-built generative models.

It will be available as a free software update, with the first set of features rolling out next month in U.S. English for most regions around the world.

For photography, the devices are equipped with a dual-camera system that consists of a 48MP Fusion camera with “optical quality” 2x telephoto zoom, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera with macro. They also have a 12MP front-facing camera with autofocus and support HDR and Cinematic mode. Additionally, the iPhones can now take spatial photos and videos, which can be viewed on Apple Vision Pro.
