Ion Perez Backs Out Of His Political Plan?

It’s Showtime host Ion Perez reportedly backed out of his plan to run for councilor of Concepcion, Tarlac. Ion surprised many people when photos of him filing his certificate of candidacy for the 2025 elections were circulated on social media. His decision to enter politics garnered different reactions.

Some people showed support while some criticized him for joining the political arena, and some even recalled the time when Ion’s partner Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda was asked about politics . In a previous interview, Vice shared there had been offers to him to enter politics but he can’t see himself being in a political arena. He also stressed that knowing that he can win does not mean that he will run.



With this, some netizens commented that Ion Perez should follow this view of his partner and that he should just stick to showbiz. In a recent episode of Showbiz Update, talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz with his co-hosts Mama Loi and Mrena discussed the now-deleted post shared by Ion on his Facebook Page under the name “Ion Valdez.” The post stated, “Salamat sa sign LORD alam ko mas makakabuti etong desisyon ko para sa sarili ko!!” With this, netizens speculated that this has something to do with his political plans.

It was speculated that he is backing out of his candidacy. Ogie shared that as what he heard, this post that Ion shared was indeed about backing out. “ Ang sabi, nag-back out na si Ion sa pagtakbo bilang councilor sa Concepcion, Tarlac at magko-concentrate na lamang ito sa showbiz, ” Ogie shared.

Then, the talent manager-vlogger said that he was sure that there were those who will “aatras.” Ogie mentioned that there were two celebrities who would not push through with their political plans. However, he did not mention the names of these celebrities.
