SUBANG JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy visit from Intel Corporation, led by Intel Foundry's executive vice president and chief technology and operations officer, Dr Naga Chandrasekaran.In a Facebook post, Anwar said that during the meeting, Intel expressed its appreciation for the continued support it has received from Malaysia."This strategic partnership must be maintained and strengthened in line with technological advancements and the country's evolving economic landscape," he said.
Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said that he was briefed on the progress of Intel's new facility in Malaysia, a project involving an investment of RM2.4 billion.He added that this initiative will further enhance Intel Malaysia's capabilities as a regional leader.
"Regarding talent development and job opportunities for Malaysians, Intel remains committed to training the local workforce, with 250 individuals currently undergoing training at the company's facilities abroad."As such, I warmly welcome the confidence and commitment of investors like Intel, who continue to choose Malaysia as a long-term investment destination," he said.Intel Corporation is a major American technology company and an early investor in Malaysia's semiconductor industry.
