During the July 13 rally, Trump's right ear was slightly injured by a gunshot while Buffalo Township firefighter Corey Comperatore lost his life protecting his family from the gunfire. The Trump campaign announced they will be honored at the event on Saturday. For the event, the Trump team has hired a private security firm. According to Osche, multiple agencies are involved in ensuring the safety of the event, and the number of attendees has also increased since the July rally.

Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, the agency has implemented "comprehensive changes and enhancements" to its protective operations, resources, and communication capabilities. He emphasized that the Secret Service "takes the responsibility to ensure his safety and security very seriously" and that Trump is "receiving heightened protection." Guglielmi stated that the agency is working closely with the Pennsylvania State Police and local law enforcement in and around Butler Township to secure the October 5 event.

"We are also leveraging other federal security resources to expand personnel and technology," he added. While Guglielmi declined to provide specific details about the security improvements to maintain the integrity of the Secret Service's operations, he confirmed that state, local, and federal law enforcement will have a more visible presence. To bolster communications, crews have reinforced connections to nearby cell towers, and Butler County's Emergency Management Agency has also made significant efforts, Osche reported.
