With a great run of form over the festive period, with them making the semi final of the Carabao Cup and climbing up to seventh in the league, there's quite a bit for the Newcastle United team to celebrate this Christmas . And, ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Aston Villa, many players have been enjoying some magical times with their families. Having dropped down into the bottom half of the Premier League team, after some disappointing results, including a 2-0 home defeat against West Ham, an uninspiring draw away to Crystal Palace and a 4-2 loss to Brentford, Eddie Howe's men were desperate to get back on track and their 4-0 win against Leicester at St James' Park kick started a great run heading into Christmas, which also saw them get revenge against Brentford for the league defeat and thrash Ipswich away, to take them up to 7th and within just a few points of the top four.
The next test for United was Thursday's game against a rather inconsistent Villas side, but before then, the players have had a bit of opportunity to relax and unwind with their nearest and dearest. And looking at their Instagram accounts it's clear that like, many of us, NUFC players are big fans of matching PJs for Santa! Big Joe is definitely in the matching pyjamas for Christmas crew, with him and wife Thays, who he married in Brazil over the summer, each dinning sets to match those worn by their three children, as they posed in front of a stunning tree at their home on Christmas Eve. Not to be outdone by his teammates, Miggy has too got on the matching PJ bandwagon this year, with him and other half Alexia relaxing in front of their tree in penguin pyjamas to match their little boy. The couple also made his Christmas even more special with a trip to the amazing Santa on the Rooftop experience at Fenwick in Newcastle.
