Harry Styles first soared to stardom when he formed the band One Directon on X Factor back in 2010. Since then, the musician has gone from strength to strength despite the band breaking up in 2016. The hitmaker has gone on to carve out a hugely successful solo career with severan number one hit singles such as As It Was, Sign of the Times and Adore You.
As fans mark five years since the 30-year-old dropped his chart-topping hit Watermelon Sugar, Express.co.uk has take a deep dive inside the singer's family life.
For all the friends in Harry's life, no one is as close to the singer as his beloved family. Harry, his mum Anne Twist and his sister Gemma are incredibly tight-knit, despite georgraphy keeping them apart due to his busy schedule and jet-set life. Despite becoming one of the most successful men in music, Anne insists that fame hasn't changed him at all.
She previously said: "He's just the same as he's always been. As a very little boy, he was very much like he is now, just a smaller version." His sister added: "Sometimes I look at him now and wonder how he manages to entrance people, skipping about just being himself, but actually he's always done it.
Only now, more people get to watch." After watching his success in the film and music industry, his sister Gemma decided to branch out as a successful writer and podcaster. But it hasn't always been plain sailing for the strong family unit.
In 2017, the family came together following the tragic death of Anne's husband and doting stepdad Robin Twist. The musician remains in regular contact with his father, Des. More recently, Gemma bravely opened up about her severe battle with depression back in September.
The author shared her struggles with suicidal thoughts after she was diagnosed with depression after she felt "hollow and unworthy". In her new book, Why Am I Like This? the podcast host explained how she overcame that dark period of her life shortly after her diagnosis. She disclosed: "One of the things shown to have the most positive impact on people having suicidal thoughts or in the depths of depression is to share stories when you go 'that happened to me.
I felt like that, and I feel better now'. "I didn't actively want to die but I so badly wanted to opt out of what my life had become it boiled down to the same longing." Despite overcoming this low period of her life, the star still fears that she could slip back into a deep depression again after welcoming her daughter earlier this year with partner Michal Miynowski.
She admitted to feeling well currently but harbours concerns about a potential resurgence of her depression. Gemma expressed: "In the back of my mind, sometimes I think that could happen to me again but I try not to dwell on it. I have come though it before and I could do it again.
" Gemma has previously spoken about the unwavering support she received from her globally renowned brother Harry during her darkest times. She also highlighted how he's an involved uncle to her child, despite his hectic career schedule. During a conversation with The Sunday Times, Gemma praised Harry for always being ready to offer a "pep talk" and extended gratitude towards their mother Anne for her "endless wisdom" and support.
She shared that the Styles family has always been open about mental health, a trait she's found supportive over the years..
