Gladiators star Jet, real name Diane Youdale, believed she'd found "the one" in wife Zoe - but the pair have reportedly now parted ways after just one year of marriage and 18 months together. It's been claimed that feel they "may have rushed" into things, but bear no "hard feelings" towards each other. Not too long ago, the couple, who fell for each other after meeting at a supermarket, appeared to be deeply in love.
Now prison educator Zoe has changed her Facebook status to 'single', as a neighbour claims Diane hasn't been at the marital home in months. Here, the Mirror takes a look at their short-lived romance..
. An insider told MailOnline: "Diane and Zoe just realised it wasn't to be. They didn't see any point carrying on so decided to end their marriage.
"It's sad, especially as they were only married for nearly 18 months, but they just weren't getting on. On reflection, they may have rushed into making their relationship official but there's no regrets or hard feelings between them." Middlesborough-born Diane met Zoe in a Tesco car park just after the TV star had wrapped up a pilates class.
A whirlwind romance soon blossomed, and Diane immediately realised she had a special connection with Zoe. As previously reported by the Mirror, the Gladiator confessed she "just knew" Zoe was the one. Having always felt "relaxed" about her sexuality, she also didn't feel the need to "keep it a secret".
Diane shared: "I don't have any prejudices against males or females, but I'm definitely more comfortable with Zoe now." So certain was Diane, now 54, that she popped the question just four months into their relationship. She admitted: "The proposal was really boring, just in the kitchen over a glass of wine, you know, let's do this.
" Boring or not, Zoe happily accepted, and, a little over a year after the besotted women first locked eyes, Diane proceeded to announce the happy news of their engagement. During an appearance on the Chillin' with Ice podcast in the summer of 2023, the ex-athlete shared: "Just over a year ago, a gorgeous lady approached me in my local supermarket and over a year later, we're going to get married." A wedding followed shortly afterwards, described as an intimate "secret" ceremony attended by just six of the couple's closest friends and family members.
Opening up about her special day with Closer at the time, a delighted Diane said: "We’re married! We kept it very, very quiet. Literally, nine people on the planet knew. When you’re in the public eye – whether it was like me and it was literally last millennium, or in this day and age on social media – things just run away with you.
"I’m in my 50s now, and we’re both very private people, and we thought, ‘You know, let’s just keep this thing quiet’. We’ve not let even our nearest and dearest know because we wanted to keep it really tiny." Proving that showing emotion is no barrier to being strong, Diane added: “It was casual, I didn’t wear a dress.
I wore a nice boho-type top, trousers and a beautiful pair of sandals. Zoe wore her chinos, brogues and a nice shirt with a waistcoat. She looked ever so smart.
I cried a lot.” A member of the original Gladiators cast, fan favourite Diane ended up leaving the show out after four seasons due to a neck injury she sustained in a bad fall during one of the challenges. The star has since retrained as a psychotherapist and pilates instructor but has continued to make various TV appearances over the years.
