This Morning star Dermot O'Leary has been married to wife Dee Koppang for 12 years and the couple share one son together This Morning's Dermot O'Leary is celebrating 12 years of wedded joy with his wife Dee Koppang, having successfully kept their private life away from the limelight. The couple, who tied the knot back in September 2012, recently delighted fans with a rare glimpse into their wedding day, as Dermot shared a throwback photo on Instagram to commemorate their anniversary. The snapshot showed the pair dancing to a live band during their evening reception, epitomising the essence of newlywed happiness.

Dermot, aged 51, captioned the cherished memory with "12 years! " and a red love-heart emoji, prompting an outpouring of well-wishes from friends and fellow celebrities. This Morning colleague Alison Hammond extended her "Congratulations", while All Saints star Nicole Appleton exclaimed, "Omgoodness! Happy Anniversary." The nuptials took place at St.

Mary's Church in Chiddingstone, Kent, where Dee stunned in an elegant silk gown adorned with lace. The festivities continued at Chiddingstone Castle for the evening celebration. Their special day was graced by a host of famous faces, including Holly Willoughby, James Corden, and Bear Grylls.

Despite their high-profile status, Dermot and Dee have managed to maintain a low profile throughout their 12-year union. In a candid moment during a Q&A session with fans, Dermot once shared his insights into maintaining a strong marriage, admitting that no relationship is without its challenges but emphasising the importance of giving each other space and making compromises. Dermot O'Leary has spoken about the secret to his happy marriage to wife Dee Koppang, saying it's all about giving each other space.

The TV presenter, 49, has been married to Dee, 46, since 2012, and the couple share a son, Kasper, who was born in June 2020. Dermot and Dee met while working in the TV industry in the early 2000s, and he proposed to her on a romantic break to New York in 2011. Speaking about their relationship, Dermot said: "This person's your best friend.

Try not to give them a hard time. It's down to letting someone still have an active life individually. It's about being there when you need to be there.

" Dermot has previously spoken about how having a child has changed his priorities in life. He told The Sunday Times: "Having a child has changed what I want from life and what makes me happy. Do I need another car? The latest gadget? A bit of vintage Van Morrison vinyl? No, forget the material stuff.

" "What I want is to be with the people I love! " He added: "Dee's work means that we're not always together but, those evenings when we are, we make the most of spending proper time together as a family. I can't understand those parents who don't enjoy changing nappies or crawling around on the carpet pretending to be a racing car. Isn't that the absolute joy of being a parent? ".

Dee works in TV and film, but unlike her husband, she prefers to stay behind the camera. The accomplished unit director, with key roles on blockbuster Netflix hits such as The Crown and Bridgerton, doesn't stop there. Her extensive resume boasts involvement in the BBC drama The Split.

Dee recalled her experience of co-directing with writer Abi Morgan, noting: "It was wonderful because it felt like my directorial debut as well, as I come from a second-unit background. The Split was my first time as lead director, so the first time I was in charge of a whole episode, let alone a series. No pressure! ".

Working dynamics became a family affair when Dee revealed that she roped her husband into The Split for a small part. She recounted: "You never want it to feel nepotistic, but it was scripted that one of the characters is interviewed on a breakfast TV show, and it was one of those funny things where I felt it'd be so weird to get someone else! So I said, 'I might have someone I know who'd be up for this! '". "Dermot is such a huge fan of The Split anyway, he was so over-excited to be part of it.

I recently got to show him his section - and I mean it's a tiny cameo - but he was very excited. We've got some really good cameos this season, from Lily Cole to Tom Rhys Harries to Lindsay Duncan, it's amazing! ". Beyond her laudable achievements in the television and film realm, Dee has been at the helm of producing and directing the glittering Victoria's Secret Fashion show since 2009 and was a creative force behind the scenes of the 2012 Olympic opening ceremony in London.

Dee has opened up about her impressive career trajectory to Directors UK, detailing her journey: "I was a runner, coordinator, researcher, AP, Shooting AP, DV Director, PD, series director etc. I spent the next 15 years working my way up in the exciting worlds of music shows, observational documentaries, live breakfast TV, and reality shows like Big Brother and Shipwrecked." Her career, which began with her as a runner, has seen her direct documentaries on Justin Bieber's world tour and work with other A-listers such as Rihanna and Lady Gaga.
