Celebrity Big Brother’s Patsy Palmer gives fans a glimpse inside her stunning Malibu property (Picture: Rex / Instagram / Patsy Palmer)Patsy Palmer has headed into the Celebrity Big Brother house alongside the likes of Mickey Rourke, JoJo Siwa, Jack P Shepherd and Chris Hughes.And the former EastEnders star, best known for playing Bianca Jackson on the BBC soap, is leaving behind a life of luxury in California, where she’s lived since 2014.The actress, 52, swapped Albert Square for a stunning sea-front property in Malibu where she lives with her husband, Richard Merkell, and their three children; Fenton, 22, Emilia, 21, and Bertie, 12.
Patsy is also a proud mum to son Charley Palmer Rothwell, who has followed in her footsteps into acting and has appeared in both Dunkirk and Our Girl.Patsy, who revealed she uses her real name of Julie while she’s in the States, regularly shares glimpses inside the stunning property on social media and entertained her fans throughout the Coronavirus lockdowns by streaming live DJ sets from her garden.Patsy has called her Malibu home her ‘sanctuary’ (Picture: Instagram)Patsy has shared a glimpse of the view from the sea-front property (Picture: Instagram)The outdoor space is perfect for the sunny Malibu weather and features a huge swimming pool and incredible views over the Pacific.

‘I just felt where else would I go? I always wanted to go somewhere, and I lost my dad, I lost my stepdad, and I did have a lightbulb moment then that “this is it, this is really it, so make your mind up, do what you want” moment,’ she explained.‘The only place I can go where the kids can sort of have a nice beachy life is here because I’m an actress, what else do I do?’Speaking on the Shuffle Skip Repeat podcast, she once said that she’s living her ‘dream life’ in America with no plans to return to England full-time.Patsy relocated with her children back in 2014 (Picture: Instagram)Patsy regularly shares glimpses of the incredible views from her garden (Picture: Instagram)‘It’s beautiful.
We live in our own little bubble. Malibu is its own little place; we very much keep ourselves to ourselves, and we have a lot of English friends,’ she shared.‘I pinch myself every morning when I wake up and see the ocean; it’s like a dream.
But I’ve created that.‘I don’t think I would live in England again. I would like to experience something else in life, but I’m not too sure if I will.

I know it’s nothing compared to human life, but for the kids, it is their whole world,’ she told Lorraine Kelly.Patsy has been married to her second husband, Richard Merkell since 2000 after being close friends with the cab driver for 14 years before striking up a romance and starting a family. The pair renewed their vows in a romantic Caribbean ceremony in 2012.
The soap legend has long spoken highly of Richard, having credited him for getting her through her addiction struggles in her twenties.‘He’s given me what I’ve always really wanted—a real family,’ she said previously.Patsy also told The Express in 2012 that he is an ‘amazing husband’ but still her ‘best friend’.
