Inquiry against cop for misconduct at eatery

Pune: The district rural police has initiated an inquiry against a constable after he allegedly created a ruckus at a mess (eatery) on Friday. The woman mess operator shot a video of the policeman and posted it on a social media site. The constable, posted with the Uruli Kanchan police, had allegedly visited the eatery in an inebriated condition in civil dress.

Superintendent of police, Pune Rural, Pankaj Deshmukh, said, "The constable was not on duty when he went to the mess, where he regularly goes to have food. It has been claimed that he demanded sexual favours from the woman mess operator, but the primary information states that he did not demand any such favours. We will conduct the inquiry and take the appropriate action against him.
