Mumbai: Indigo airlines flight Mumbai – Varanasi made an emergency landing at the Chikalthana Airport on Sunday night as an onboard 89-year-old woman passenger died.The deceased woman was identified as Sushila Devi, a native of Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh who boarded the flight from Mumbai. She complained about not feeling well mid-air after which the flight operators took a decision for an emergency landing.
In a statement given by airport official, “The Indigo flight had an emergency landing at the Chikalthana Airport due to medical emergency around 10 pm. Our Medical team examined the woman on landing, and declared her dead.”According to the airlines official, the woman’s body was sent to the Government Medical College and Hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for further procedures.
