India's Modi to Travel to Mauritius on Tuesday

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a state visit to the African nation of Mauritius from March 11-12 to strengthen strategic ties and boost trade in the Indian Ocean region.

Modi will attend the country's National Day celebrations as the chief guest. He will also meet with Mauritius' prime minister as well as other high-ranking officials and political party leaders. Modi is expected to meet with members of the Indian community on the island, which lies east of Madagascar, and inaugurate the Civil Service College and the Area Health Center buildings, both constructed with significant investments from New Delhi.
