However there is one superstar who has broken the record of all these actors, by giving 50 blockbusters and 400 hits. He is none other than , one of the most influential actors in the history of Indian cinema. Prem Nazir’s successful acting journey Prem Nazir ruled Malayalam cinema for nearly 3 decades.



In career that spanned from 1951-89, he worked as the lead in staggering 720 films, a world record for a while. Unbelievable as it sounds, but he did this by working double or triple shifts, appearing in over 30 films in a year twice. According to various trade analysts and industry insiders, Nazir has starred in over 400 hit films, out of which 50 were blockbusters.

No superstar could beat Prem Nazir’s record No superstar in Bollywood has even 100 hits. According to a report by DNA, Amitabh Bachchan holds the record of 56 hits, while Rajesh Khanna has 42, Shah Rukh and Salman Khan has somewhere in mid-30s. Even superstars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan doesn’t have over 100 hits in their career.

Regarded as India’s first superstar, Nazir was nicknamed Nithyaharitha Nayakan (Evergreen Hero) by the fans and media. He is renowned for performances in films such as among others. By 80s, Prem Nazir moved to doing supporting characters.
