In just a few short days, the Indiana Fever will begin their first WNBA Playoffs since 2016. With only one game remaining in the regular season, the Fever have already locked up the sixth seed and still await their first round opponent, which will be either the Connecticut Sun or the Las Vegas Aces. Indiana has gotten to this point thanks to the strong play of All-Star guards Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell.

Both have been lights out during the course of the season, and both turned it up a notch following the Olympic break. On Wednesday, the Fever made a post on social media highlighting the scoring threat of their backcourt duo with a reminder to WNBA fans. "Only team in the WNBA to have two players in the top 8 in scoring this season: Kelsey Mitchell - 19.

6 PPG. Caitlin Clark - 19.5 PPG," the Fever wrote on X with a smirking face emoji.

5 lands her at eighth. Clark also leads all rookies in scoring by a wide margin, with Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese being the next closest with 13.6 points per game.

Since the WNBA's return from the month-long hiatus, Mitchell has scored 20 or more points in all but one game, in which she scored 18. The former Ohio State star also broke her own Fever record for most points in a single season with 763 on a career high 46.7% shooting.

She set the initial record of 728 points in 2023. Michael Chow-Arizona Republic Indiana's final game of the regular season will be on Thursday, September 19, against the Washington Mystics. If the Sun defeat the Sky on that same day, the Fever will face Connecticut in round one.

If the Sun lose and the Aces beat the Dallas Wings, Indiana will get the defending champion. Related: Dallas Wings Star Suspended After Technical Foul Against Indiana Fever Related: Indiana Fever Make Major Announcement About WNBA Playoffs.
