SAN FRANCISCO: Former Indian Artificial Intelligence (AI) researcher at Open AI, has been found dead. 26-year-old Suchir Balaji was found dead in his San Francisco apartment. The initial conclusion is that it is a case of suicide.
More details about the incident that took place on November 26 are emerging now. Reports said the body was found in an investigation by San Francisco police after friends and colleagues reported that the youth could not be contacted. After resigning from his job in August, Suchir had levelled serious allegations about Open AI.
He alleged that serious copyright violations were taking place in the company. These revelations led to major discussions on social media. Tesla CEO Elon Musk also responded to the incident.
The youth publicly accused the company of using copyrighted data without proper permission to train its generative AI program Chat GPT. In an interview with a media, the youth said that technologies like ChatGPT could damage the internet and that using data without consent was harmful to its original owners. Following Suchir's allegations, several people and journalists filed copyright infringement lawsuits against the company.
