CHENNAI: Following the footsteps of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, the top-ranked Indian all-rounder, announced his retirement from the T20 format on Sunday. Jadeja, now 35, announced the decision through his Instagram page. Late on Sunday, after winning the T20 World Cup, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had decided to retire from the T20 format.

“With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I’ve always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats," Jadeja posted on Instagram. A ‘terror’ to reckon with during his prime, Jadeja has 54 wickets in 74 matches, scoring 515 runs in T20 cricket.

Jadeja will continue to wear the blue jersey in the longest format and is sure to grace the IPL in the upcoming season. A post shared by Ravindrasinh jadeja (@royalnavghan).
