A Pakistani journalist got brutally mocked by a TV anchor over India’s Champions Trophy blazer claims. The expert claimed that the customary white blazers donned by the Indian players will always have Pakistan’s name as the ICC event’s official host. “In the end, Pakistan won.

That white jacket they wore, with Pakistan’s name, will forever be written on it," the panelist said on ARY News. The anchor came up with a hilarious answer, saying that India would at least remember Pakistan as a ‘tailor’. “ Issi bahane Pakistan ko as darzi zarur yaad rakhenge (On this pretext, India will surely remember Pakistan as a tailor)," he replied.

A fan shared the live segment’s clip on X (formerly Twitter). Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is engaged in a tussle with the International Cricket Council (ICC) for ignoring its representative at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Champions Trophy. While PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had informed the ICC about his absence, chief operating officer and tournament director Sumair Ahmed traveled to Dubai for the final.

Sumair, however, was allegedly ignored by the ICC. The Pakistani journalist blamed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for Sumair Ahmed’s exclusion from the closing ceremony. “ICC decides who will come to the podium.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi had notified he would not be present, but I felt he should have travelled to Dubai. Sumair Ahmed, COO, was present, but ICC did not honour him by calling him to the stage," he said. “In the entire tournament, India has tried to push back Pakistan – they did not want to wear a jersey with Pakistan’s name and they did not want to travel to Pakistan," the journalist added.

The PCB has now lodged a formal protest with the ICC over their representative’s absence. Geo News recently approached ICC over the closing ceremony snub. In reply, an ICC spokesperson argued that Mohsin Naqvi was already invited, but he chose not to attend.

“The ICC only invites the head of the host board — such as the president, vice president, chairman, or CEO — to participate in the awards ceremony. Other board officials, regardless of their presence at the venue, are not part of the stage proceedings," he maintained, as quoted by PTI . India won their record third Champions Trophy crown last week at the Dubai International Stadium.
