Chasing an impossible 534 runs to win, Australia were bundled out for 238 with skipper Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj picking up three wickets each.
It ended a run of three successive losses in Test cricket for Team India, after they suffered a humiliating 3-0 whitewash at home at the hands of New Zealand earlier this month. India are now 1-0 ahead in the five-match series with the second Test, which will be a ‘Pink ball Day/Night’ Test, beginning in Adelaide on November 30.
