In its 1,207 report on Amazon, the Indian regulatory body ruled that five companies, including, Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Realme, and OnePlus, were involved in exclusive phone launches in collusion with the Jeff Bezos company and its affiliates. Meanwhile, in a similar 1,696 page report on Flipkart, the CCI, accused the Walmart company hands-in-glove with Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Vivo, Lenovo and Realme. The CCI report alleged that exclusive phone launches has affected ordinary sellers and the brick-and-mortar retailers who receive the stock much later than online availability.

The investigation also found that both Amazon and Flipkart used their videsi investments to enable subsidized rates for services including warehousing and marketing, benefiting select sellers. The ongoing investigation on Amazon and Flipkart by CCI was sparked by a complaint filed by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) in 2020 .
