India showcases growth vision at Davos

India demonstrated its growing prominence on the global economic stage at the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, held from January 20 to 24, 2025. Themed “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age,” the event focused on five global priorities: rebuilding trust, reimagining growth, investing in people, safeguarding the planet, and advancing industries in the intelligent age. The Indian delegation included prominent business leaders and policymakers, such as Sunil Kumar Gupta, Founder of SARC Associates and Indo European Business Forum, along with Rajendra Bagade, Chandra Sekhar Akula, Probir Roy, and Ashutosh Verma.

They engaged in discussions with key government officials, including Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Kerala Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan. Highlighting emerging sectors, Sunil Kumar Gupta proposed the recognition of sunrise industries like e-sports, gaming, and digital entertainment. “As states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh aim to double their GDP, 20% of this growth will stem from the digital economy ,” he said.



Probir Roy, Co-Founder of Paymate, emphasized the transformative potential of fast-moving tech-driven businesses (FMBs). “Gaming, e-sports, and digital payments could contribute a fifth of India’s incremental GDP growth,” Roy said, highlighting India’s vibrant consumer and B2B markets..
