NEW DELHI: India has emerged as the talent capital of the world, particularly in new-age technologies such as artificial intelligence ( AI ), minister of state for commerce & industry, and electronics and IT Jitin Prasada said Friday. “India is the skill and the talent capital of the world. As far as technology and artificial intelligence are concerned, we will showcase the use cases of AI on account of the vast amounts of data generated in India.
We have skilled folks, and we are willing to send them to various parts of the world,” Prasada said at the ‘ India-Japan Economy & Investment Forum ’ organised in the national capital. Advt He said India’s skilled workforce can contribute to the economic growth and development of Japan. “I am sure they (Indians) will contribute to the Japanese economy and development.
We would welcome this opportunity for our professionals to be welcomed in Japan,” Prasada said. At the forum, Japan signed several memorandum of understanding (MoUs) with Indian state governments, including Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. “This demonstrates that the subnational diplomacy between India and Japan is also at its peak,” the union minister said.
The union minister further said that Japan has contributed to India’s infrastructure development and digital transformation, and added that India can, in turn, immensely contribute to Japan government’s initiatives in semiconductors, green energy, and digital transformation. In August 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan, Nukaga Fukushiro, and his delegation including members of the Japanese Parliament and business leaders representing major Japanese companies to deliberate on key areas of collaboration and mutual interest with focus on people to people cooperation, besides reiterating the importance of parliamentary exchanges between India and Japan, an official government statement had said. The high-level officials had expressed their satisfaction at the progress made on the current target of 5 trillion Japanese Yen investment set between India and Japan during 2022 and 2027, and had discussed ways to further consolidate the business and economic ties for the period beyond 2027.
Advt “They also deliberated on how to strengthen cooperation in traditional manufacturing as well as modern domains like semiconductors, EV, green and clean energy,” PM Modi’s office had said.
