India A Tour Of Australia: Ishan Kishan, who was released from BCCI's central contract list in February this year as there were speculations that he prioritized IPL over the domestic tournament, would be making a comeback to the India A side. As per PTI, there are high chances that Ishan will be returning to the national side with the India A tour against Australia next month. Kishan last played for India against South Africa in 2023 and that too he pulled out of the series halfway.
There were reports that he took a personal break and this decision didn't go down well with the board. Kishan then missed the domestic tournaments before the IPL and that's why the BCCI released him from the central contract list. Former India head coach Rahul Dravid reckoned that he should feature in domestic cricket matches to make a comeback to the national squad.
"He had requested a break, we were happy to give him a break. Whenever he is ready, he needs to play some cricket and come back. The choice is his.
We are not forcing him to do anything. We are in touch with him. We know what it is.
He hasn't yet started playing, right? At the moment, it's not something that we would consider. He is maybe not ready. He decides when he wants to be ready.
We have got options with Rishabh injured and stuff. The selectors will consider all this and take a call," Dravid told reporters.
