Income tax department no longer adversarial, have a participative approach: CBDT chief Ravi Agrawal

The income tax department has adopted a more participative approach and is no longer an adversarial department, said CBDT chairman Ravi Agrawal at a FICCI event. Agrawal said that there has been a paradigm shift in approach towards governance at the tax department and that trust first is the basic theme. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while reading out the Budget speech, emphasised on the trust first, scrutinise later mantra for the tax department.
