Income tax changes from April that will put more money in your pocket

Starting April 1, major changes in personal income tax provisions will take effect, reflecting in Income Tax Returns for Assessment Year 2026-27. For individuals opting for the new tax regime, the tax-free income limit has been raised from seven lakh rupees to twelve lakh rupees. According to the Finance Bill 2025, individuals earning up to twelve lakh rupees will no longer be required to pay income tax.
