A once popular night time spot which later turned into a nursery is up for sale in Coventry now. A generation of clubbers who once partied to the early hours at Careys, Hertford Place, may have later used the same site for child care when it became Small Fries Day Nursery in 2017. The venue can now be snapped up on a long leasehold for £650,000.
Promoting the sale, Holt Commercial Coventry describe the building as available immediately and with an excellent ring road position. Images from Rightmove show little trace of the former nightclub, aside from the distinctive glass wall enclosing the stairs, and the sign outside which still reads 'Careys' despite not having been known as that nigh on a decade. The listing on Rightmove reads: "The property comprises a former night club and most recently a children's day nursery.
"It was constructed approximately 45 years ago and is over three storeys within a brick walled, concrete and/or steel frame and flat roof building. There is a storage area at basement level and an outside play area to the side of the building. See images of inside the building here: "The property is situated near to the city centre, overlooking Croft Road to the front at its junction with a slip road off the A4053 Coventry Ring Road.
"Hertford Place is the access road to the property to the rear which is a cul-de-sac." Read the full listing here ..
