And before the New Orleans Saints’ Week 11 game against the Cleveland Browns made it to the fourth quarter, McCoy had made his return to the bench. After missing seven weeks on injured reserve because of a groin injury that required surgery, McCoy suffered another groin injury Sunday that knocked him out of the lineup. It is not yet clear if it is a new injury, or if McCoy aggravated his previous one.

McCoy briefly went to the injury tent in the first half of Sunday’s game after a drive. He re-entered the game after that, but in the second half he watched the Saints score a go-ahead touchdown while Shane Lemieux held down the center spot. The Saints called McCoy questionable to return.
