1 2 Pune: Rohit, a 25-year-old professional who moved to Pune for a high-paying corporate job, found himself struggling despite financial success. Since childhood, he had been self-conscious about a nose deformity, which made him a target for bullying. As he grew older, he also developed chronic snoring, affecting sleep quality and his overall well-being.
Seeking a solution, Rohit underwent a rhinoplasty along with sleep monitoring and treatment, which not only enhanced his appearance but also significantly improved his health and quality of life. Similarly, a young model looking for a competitive edge in the industry opted for rhinoplasty and facial rebalancing treatments, including lip and cheek fillers, to enhance her appearance. A financially independent businesswoman in her late 40s sought anti-ageing treatments such as botulinum toxin injections and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) to rejuvenate her skin.
The integration of ENT and dermatology services under one roof reflects a growing trend in healthcare. A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) Otolaryngology highlights that patients seeking rhinoplasty often have underlying nasal breathing issues that should be treated simultaneously. Similarly, research in dermatologic surgery underscores the psychological effects of hair loss and skin conditions, demonstrating that addressing these concerns can significantly improve mental health.
"Many patients come to us with aesthetic concerns, but they also have functional nasal issues. Addressing both in a single setting not only enhances their self-image but also improves their breathing," said ENT surgeon Dr Virendra Ghaisas, who heads the Center for Advanced ENT and Facial Aesthetics (CAEFA). Dermatologist Dr Mukta Tulpule agreed.
"Skin and hair treatments are no longer just about appearance. Hair loss, acne scars, and signs of ageing can impact mental well-being , and comprehensive care helps individuals regain confidence." Traditionally, patients seeking treatment for ENT issues such as sleep apnea, voice disorders, and allergies had to visit multiple specialists.
"Similarly, those considering dermatology and aesthetic procedures often faced a fragmented system. Our goal is to bridge this gap by offering integrated care in a state-of-the-art facility," Dr Ghaisas said. The demand for combined medical and aesthetic treatments is growing globally.
Studies indicate a rise in procedures such as rhinoplasty, botulinum toxin injections, and hair restoration, reflecting a shift in how healthcare is perceived — not just as a necessity but as a means of enhancing overall well-being and confidence. "Pune has long needed a healthcare centre where patients no longer have to choose between function and appearance. Our approach ensures the treatment is seamless and holistic," Dr Ghaisas added.
