Netflix users are in for a shock with an 'impressive' film that Black Mirror fans should definitely watch before the new season drops . The highly anticipated seventh series of the anthology show is set to premiere on April 10, exclusively on the streaming platform . For the first time ever, fans are eagerly awaiting what appears to be a sequel to one of the most popular episodes. This is because the upcoming season includes a follow-up to the episode USS Callister, originally from season four. Many fans might want to revisit this particular episode to refresh their memory of the events.
But that's not all. There's also a film that fans should make sure they don't miss, reports the Mirror . Characters from the Black Mirror film Bandersnatch seem to be making a comeback in another of the new episodes.
Released in 2018 and penned by Black Mirror series creator Charlie Brooker, the film is very much a part of the show's universe. Set in 1984, Bandersnatch follows Stephan, a young programmer who attempts to adapt a dark fantasy novel into an interactive video game. As he immerses himself, his grasp on reality blurs with a dream-like haze, leading him to confront a mind-bending ordeal.
Bandersnatch stands out as it's interactive, mirroring a choose-your-own-adventure game, where viewers make choices for the characters' actions. Netflix has disclosed that Bandersnatch boasts five "main" endings, each with variations; some even segue into credits, akin to other Black Mirror installments. Fans are buzzing to discover which ending, if any, is deemed the official one, especially with characters potentially reappearing.
With the sneak peek at Black Mirror's season seven released by Netflix, sharp-eyed enthusiasts noticed Will Poulter reprising his role as Colin Ritman from Bandersnatch alongside Asim Chaudhry, who portrays Mohan Thakur. They're slated to star in the episode titled Plaything, unfolding roughly ten years post-Bandersnatch. Netflix has confirmed the plot: "An eccentric loner named Cameron, who harbours an obsession with a mysterious '90s video game, is arrested in connection with a grisly cold case - and his interrogation soon goes to places the police weren't expecting.
" The episode in question isn't a direct follow-up to the film, but fans are eager to revisit the original to see how the two might interconnect. The initial critical response was lukewarm, yet the film has remained a fan favorite over time. One fan reflected on their renewed appreciation for the title, sharing, "I recently revisited Bandersnatch and must say it is way better than I remembered.
At the time of its release in 2018, it felt gimmicky and shallow, but it has aged like a fine wine. It's a truly unique piece of work which is often derided but is well worth your attention and is actually very thought-provoking." Another viewer expressed their initial astonishment at the film's interactive nature: "The film was at first a shock to me as it became a choose your own adventure styled game while the film progressed.

I would highly recommend not watching this by yourself. I loved the multiple endings and the way you could go back to choose the different storylines it really added to the creepy effect."
