Then you open the bonnet and locate the dipstick before wiping it clean, reinsert it fully, and then removing it again to check the level.The oil should be between the minimum and maximum marks; if it’s low, top it up carefully, ensuring you do not overfill.He said: “Once the oil is between the minimum and maximum marks, you’re all good.
“Your dipstick may be located in the oil cap, so have a look.”Next, the driving instructor said you may be asked about the correct way to check the coolant level in your car. The driving instructor said to first make sure the engine is cold, then open the bonnet and locate the coolant reservoir.
After this, check that the coolant is between the minimum and maximum markings on the side of the reservoir.If it’s low, top it up with the correct type of coolant. Never open the cap when the engine is hot, as this is dangerous.
