A pair of motoring experts have taken to YouTube to recommend three common used models that are often overlooked by other buyers, meaning drivers can often find one for a very attractive price. Adam Morris and Jim Hull are two motoring experts who run the Australian YouTube channel ReDriven , regularly creating videos in which they share the best models to buy pre-owned. In a recent video , the duo discussed underrated used models, with Adam praising the Kia Picanto GT-Line in particular for its excellent mix of power and fuel economy .
He explained: "These things are awesome. Now, we're talking about a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo with front-wheel drive.
It's a little pocket rocket of a thing, and what I mean by that is it isn't that fast, but so much fun to drive. "Now, I know on the used market that they don't really depreciate, so it's actually a good financial decision to make here. They're also fuel-efficient and a great use of space.
When you get into one, you're constantly thinking how they got so much interior space in something this small." While Adam highlighted that drivers can easily find faster or more powerful models for their money, the YouTubers agreed that the 1.0-litre turbocharged engine makes the Kia Picanto great fun to drive.
Built since 2017, the third-generation Kia Picanto offers stylish looks, with plenty of creases and angles throughout the bodywork, and the GT-Line offers an impressive amount of standard equipment, such as a six-speaker sound system, 16-inch alloy wheels, and black and red synthetic leather seats. Buyers can get behind the wheel of a Kia Picanto GT-Line from around £6,000, with a Budget of £7,500 being enough for a clean example with a low mileage. Later in the video, Jim also suggested that used car buyers looking for an underrated model consider the Volkswagen Arteon.
For a fraction of the price, it rivals the Audi A5 Sportback and BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe. He added: "They do look great. I reckon it's one of the most attractive Volkswagens you can buy at the moment.
It's also the price that makes these things attractive at the moment. "They have a slightly lower sales volume than a lot of other models, and that will probably keep them cheap. Sure, that means there could be an issue with some of the body parts later, but for now they represent good value for money.
" Finally, drivers looking for something practical but plenty of fun were urged by Adam to take a look at a Suzuki Ignis, which is widely praised for the amount of interior space it offers. He continued: "We're talking the second generation that was built from 2016 until 2024. These things don't depreciate very much at all, and I can't say strongly enough that this isn't a performance car, it's got a 1.
2-litre engine, but it weighs less than 900kg. "So, even though it's not sporty, it is easily one of the most enjoyable driving experiences I've had. With a manual gearbox, this thing is a cracking great little car.
And, like all Suzukis in this class, it has such an intelligent use of space. You get in and you're amazed at how big it feels.".
