Former Strictly Come Dancing star Dr Punam Krishan has revealed that there is one TV show that would be off limits for her. The 41-year-old doctor, who competed on the BBC dance show alongside professional Gorka Marquez in 2024, shared that the show ignited a sense of adventure in her - with her wanting to say yes to everything that life throws at her. Speaking exclusively with Express.
co.uk , the Scottish medical professional shared: "One thing I have learnt and I have surprised myself with if that I'm just never going to say never. Off the back of it [ Strictly ], I've come out with a new found sense of adventure and always think 'just say yes, what is the worst that could happen?' "I wasn't this kind of person.
I think being a doctor as well you do worry about how you come across and you want to make sure that you are always seen to be respectful and everything. What I think was lovely with Strictly was that people would get to see the other side to me, and they got to see Punam having a good time, doing something that was out there and out of her comfort zone. "But I loved it.
It made me feel really alive and that I could show people that there's other things that I can do as well. So never say never, I'll always keep the doors open and should any opportunity come up I would happily say yes please, and let's see what happens." When asked if there was any rival shows that might make her "doctor mind" take over and prevent her from doing it, Punam replied: "I think I'd probably struggle with I'm a Celeb because if I see a spider in the house then I have to run out of the house and get my husband to deal with it! So I might struggle with that one.
" She laughed: "I think that would leave me needing CPR!" She continued: "But things like Bear Grylls and Race Across the World , I think those types of shows would just be exciting. I think they would ignite that sense of adventure. And that's what we're all here for.
" Dr Punam is currently working on a campaign with Kenvue as they revealed that new data show Generation Z dedicates almost an hour (58 minutes) a day to their personal care routines - significantly higher than the national average of 40 minutes. Despite their time investment, Gen Z struggles to navigate the overwhelming amount of information and ever-changing trends when it comes to personal care. Speaking about skincare habits, the former Strictly star said: "Understanding the right routine for your everyday care is essential because consistency is key.
It’s important to understand what your own body, skin or oral care needs are and find a routine and products that work for you. This can help to ensure that your personal care regimen is both effective and sustainable. "Some skincare essentials shouldn’t be forgotten, such as applying sunscreen daily to shield your skin from damaging UV rays, even on days where it may not look sunny.
Oral hygiene is equally important to avoid negative consequences such as plaque buildup, cavities, and gum disease. "Additionally, while maintaining good skin and hair care is important for daily hygiene, this alongside things like regular exercise can contribute to your overall health and wellbeing and boost your self-esteem. Finally, remember to seek advice from a healthcare professional if you need recommendations tailored to your personal needs.
