When it comes to Christmas dinner, timing is everything, especially with those all-important roast potatoes. The crispy, golden perfection we all crave can take forever to achieve, but one food expert insists cooks don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen. Chefs can have the perfect roasties on the table in just 35 minutes.

Julian Klenda, a food expert and owner of Maine Lobster Now has a solution that’ll save individuals both time and energy without skimping on flavour. According to Klenda, it’s possible to achieve golden, crispy roast potatoes in just a fraction of the time, thanks to an air fryer hack. Klenda said: “It’s all about efficiency.

“The traditional method of making perfect roast potatoes can be quite time-consuming. You have to peel, parboil, fluff them up, and then roast for ages, taking up all your oven space. But there’s an easier way.

” Instead of spending an hour or more in the kitchen, Klenda suggests using an air fryer. It’s not just a quicker way to cook, it also produces wonderfully crispy results that rival the classic method. Klenda explained: “Simply wash and chop your potatoes, toss them in a little olive oil (plus any herbs or spices you fancy), and pop them in the air fryer.

Set it to 190°C and let it work its magic for just 35 minutes. The expert's secret is a drizzle of olive oil halfway through the cooking time for that extra crunch. “It makes all the difference,” he says, adding that if cooks want to take them up a notch, they can include garlic and rosemary for a delicious, aromatic flavour.

For those looking to elevate the taste, Klenda recommends using infused olive oils, such as truffle oil. It’s a surefire way to add an extra layer of indulgence to your roast potatoes without much effort. He added: “The beauty of this hack is that you save time and energy, while still getting those perfect, crispy roast potatoes.

“In just 35 minutes, you’ll have something that not only looks impressive but tastes incredible too.”.
