Prayagraj: The Institute of Information Technology (IIIT)-Allahabad will soon start MTech in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science and MBA in online mode. This will help students and working professionals to do their jobs and study from the comfort of their homes. Students will not need to come to the campus except for the experimental work, which will be completed on campus during summer vacations.
"Both these courses have received approval from the Senate and now will be placed in the Board of Governor (BOG) meeting. After BOG's approval the courses may be launched from the 2025-26 session," said institute PRO Pankaj Mishra. MTech in AI in Data Science will teach the fundamentals and techniques of AI and data science, such as machine learning, deep learning and data analytics.
Apart from this, students will get an opportunity to use AI and data science to solve real-world problems. There is a plan to take cooperation from edutech companies for admission in new courses. This collaboration will help students advance in their careers and prepare them according to the needs of the industry.
In this online course, students will be provided with knowledge in various subjects including management, technology, and business. Apart from this, students will also be given various types of projects and assignments to enhance their skills and knowledge. This online course will be very beneficial for those students who want to advance in their careers and enhance their knowledge and skills.
Besides, the institute has also decided to restart the dual degree program in graduation (BTech-MTech, BTech-MBA) from the academic session 2025-26. This course will be of five years in which a BTech-MTech degree can be obtained in a single admission. The dual degree programme will be updated under the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), due to which students will get the option of multiple entry and exit.
That is, the more they study, the more degrees they will get. The BTech-MTech and BTech-MBA dual degree programme will provide students with an opportunity to obtain two degrees in a short time (five years) in a single admission, which will help them move forward in their careers. Also, this programme will provide opportunities for students in the field of research and development.
